Over 360 graduates celebrated in Laurea's Graduation Ceremony

Laurea’s was held at the Hall of Culture (Kulttuuritalo) in Helsinki on June 8th.

Laurea’s graduates wore a deep blue gown and a cap in the graduation ceremony.

”Congratulations, you did it!” These were the opening words of Laurea’s Vice President Katri Ojasalo when she spoke to the graduates today at Laurea’s Graduation Ceremony. Laurea's traditional graduation ceremony that was held at the Hall of Culture (Kulttuuritalo) in Helsinki on June 8th.

The graduation ceremony honoured all the students who completed their academic degrees during the spring term. Over 360 graduates were present as well as hundreds of their close friends and relatives.

This is our day, we have now graduated, said Suvi Nieminen, newly graduated from Business Administration studies, in her Graduate’s speech.

- Today we can enjoy and celebrate our completed studies. Enjoy the future challenges that await you!

At the graduation ceremony, scholarships were also distributed to Laurea's best theses in all fields of study.

Laurea’s graduates traditionally wore a deep blue gown and a cap. During the commencement each student walked up the stage, where he or she shook hands with the Vice President of Laurea. Before the end of the ceremony the freshly graduated students were asked to throw their caps in the air.

After graduation all the students will join the Laurea's alumni community. During it’s history, more than 35,000 students have graduated from Laurea with a bachelor's or master's degrees. These Laurea alumni constitute a significant group of workplace experts in Finland and worldwide.

The Graduation Ceremony was streamed live for all those friends and relatives who were unable to attend. It can be watched anytime on Laurea's YouTube channel.
