Early Childhood Education Summer School
A week-long training provides an insight into Finnish early childhood education.

The Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Summer School is based on the famous Finnish holistic and child-oriented education approach, emphasizing hands-on learning, creative and playful methods, and high-quality development work in ECEC. After the training, you will be able to align pedagogical goals with child-oriented practices and incorporate them into everyday tasks.
The training is conducted through on-site teaching at the Tikkurila campus of the Laurea University of Applied Sciences. The campus has excellent train connections from Helsinki, which is the capital of Finland. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.
The training language is English, supported with AI generated subtitles.
We utilize a digital learning environment to support the training, and we recommend bringing a laptop or tablet for effective participation in the activities.
The minimum number of participants is 20, and the maximum capacity for the training is 40 individuals.
The training is designed for early childhood education teachers and daycare center directors working with children aged 0–8. It is also suitable for daycare entrepreneurs, educators training early childhood education teachers at colleges and universities, as well as leaders in the field.

Wednesday: 9am–4pm Creative learning methods
Thursday: 9am–4pm Assessing and developing ECEC
Friday: 9am–4pm Reflection of the week and home take away
The training includes a visit to a daycare center and optional evening activities on two nights.

During the training, you will:
- Gain insight into the concept of the Finnish National Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) curriculum, with a focus on 21st Century skills and child-oriented methods.
- Understand how hands-on and playful learning can be effectively employed with young children to achieve specific goals.
- Acquire practical experiences and ideas for integrating creative education with pedagogical goals and fostering group spirit.
- Learn the reasons behind and methodologies for assessing the well-being and involvement of children and how to enhance ECEC development.
- Receive new professional methods and ideas to enhance your toolkit.
- Develop an understanding of the main theoretical concepts that guide child-oriented and playful education.
The training will be conducted in English, supported by AI-generated subtitles in your preferred language.
The digital learning platform will be your resource hub during the training.

After registration, you will receive an invoice to the provided email address. Your registration will be confirmed once the invoice is paid.
When registering, you commit to the following terms and conditions:
In the event of cancellation after payment but before June 1st, 2024, a full refund will be provided.
If you cancel your participation between June 1st and June 30th, you will receive a 50% refund.
For cancellations made after June 30th, a 30% refund will be provided.
