Studies for Ukrainians
Laurea University of Applied Sciences expresses its support for Ukraine and to those fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Laurea Open University of Applied sciences offers three study possibilities to Ukrainians who have fled the war in their home country:
- Open UAS free online courses, 2-5 ECTS credits
- Open UAS path studies, 60 ECTS credits
- Separate study right at Laurea University of Applied Sciences for Ukrainians, 120 ECTS credits
Laurea’s free Open UAS online courses
Laurea is providing its Open University of Applied Sciences courses taught in English free of charge to Ukrainians who have fled the war in their home country.
All the courses are implemented in English and topic of the courses are business, marketing and IT. The courses are fully online, and you can study independently with your own schedule. Applicants must have sufficient English skills.

Open UAS path studies, 60 ECTS credits
Open UAS path studies are study entity which consists mainly of first year studies of the degree programme. With the 60 credits that you have earned during your path studies you may apply for a degree student through separate application. Path studies are open for everybody without any previous education or age requirements.
Next path studies in English are starting in autumn 2022 and enrolment for path studies is in 22nd-24th of July 2022. Laurea Open UAS is offering path study places in the following degree programmes for Ukrainians:
- Open UAS Path Studies, Bachelor degree programme of Business Management, daytime studies, 10 study places
- Open UAS Path Studies, Bachelor degree programme of Hospitality Management and Service Design, daytime studies, 5 study places

Separate study right at Laurea University of Applied Sciences for Ukrainians
You can get a separate study right at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, if you are studying in University / Academy / Higher Educational Institution in Ukraine. Studies are starting in the beginning of the academic year 2022 - 2023.
Application period: 12.4. - 19.8.2022
Scope : ECTS 120 credits, 2 years
Separate study rights are offered for the studies of following Bachelor’s Degree Programmes:
Business Management , Bachelor of Business Administration
- Mode of teaching: daytime/campus based + online
- Max 10 students
Business Information Technology: Developing Digital Services, Bachelor of Business Administration
- Fully online
Business Information Technology: Cybersecurity, Bachelor of Business Administration
- Blended learning; mainly online, only occasional campus based meetings
- Max 5 students
Safety, Security and Risk Management: Bachelor of Business Administration
- Blended learning; mainly online, only occasional campus based meetings
- Max 5 students
Hospitality Management and Service Design : Bachelor of Hospitality Management
- Daytime/campus based
- Max 3 students
Separate study rights will be granted based on the compatibility of applicants’ earlier studies with those offered by Laurea UAS. Applicants must possess specific academic and language requirements according to Common European Framework of Reference for languages (B2).
B2: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
All applications will be processed at the end of the application period. Applicants will be interviewed at the end of the application period at Teams to check their language skills.
The following must be attached to the registration form:
- a certificate of study from the university where you are studying,
- a transcript of records of completed studies and, if the applicant has not got a Finnish social security number, a passport number / other official identity card.
Above mentioned certificates must be officially translated.
