Integration and Language Learning Living Lab Opening Ceremony

On 22 March, a new Integration and Language Learning Living Lab (i4L) will open at Laurea's Lohja campus. The Living Lab is an innovative development platform that brings together developers, service providers, students, businesses, communities and researchers. It provides a platform for different stakeholders to develop and test new services, products or practices together with their intended users. The development methods used are often design-based and creative. The latest technologies and innovations are also used and developed in Living Labs.

i4L aims to enable people- and community-centred development work on language learning and integration, with people's real needs, visions and ideas at the centre. We aim to deliver solutions and services that meet local needs and work for communities and service users. We work together to identify and implement measures that make a tangible and positive difference to people's lives.

In our inauguration, we will showcase an innovative approach that puts people first. This means concrete actions in every i4L project and development pilot. We first ask people directly what they need, and at the same time we listen to service providers, seamlessly integrating needs. We act as bridge-builders and enablers, connecting needs and providing solutions. Our aim is to create a holistic approach where all parties are actively involved in developing solutions. We bring together people and service providers to ensure that the solutions we provide are truly relevant to the needs. i4L will create a more permanent and sustainable collaborative structure based on a more fluid exchange of information and long-term co-development.
