The project adopts a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to study how advances in robot (AALTO) and perception (TUT) technologies allow product and service innovation (LUT, VTT) and renewal of welfare services (UTA-SOS, LAUREA), when such services are developed jointly with users and other stakeholders in Living labs
(VTT, LAUREA).
In addition, the uptake of the new services requires study of ethical issues (UTA-FIL, VTT) and stakeholder participation (all partners). All these disciplines will be active on the three levels : Individual (human-robot interaction, ethics, individual support functions), Services (welfare services with robots in different roles) and Society (societal acceptance, renewal of service systems).
