Socially Sustainable Early Childhood Education Future
Socially Sustainable Early Childhood Education Future (SoSECE) project develops high quality early childhood education and care systems, improves the competences of educators and guidance staff, and promotes inclusion and diversity in all fields of education. It aims at cultivating and disseminating tools and methods that support early childhood education professionals in establishing, sustaining, and advancing high quality social and pedagogical learning environments and practices, contributing to the creation of a socially sustainable future for early childhood education. Social sustainability describes a dynamic and evolving concept rooted in the culture of action, where participation is deeply embedded at the level of operational culture, promoting community over individuality.

Socially Sustainable Early Childhood Education Future (SoSECE) project fosters collaboration in early childhood education across four Baltic Sea Region countries. It addresses challenges in creating innovative societies by promoting social sustainability and multi-professional collaboration in early childhood education. The project cultivates tools to support professionals in establishing high-quality learning environments and practices, contributing to a socially sustainable future for early childhood education.
Building upon assessments and early childhood education collaboration, we devise and execute a comprehensive training strategy with associate partners. Using insights, we curate content for webpages, a MOOC, a practical toolkit, seminars, and a European-wide conference, showcasing real-world social-pedagogical examples and methods. Additionally, outcomes will be documented in a research paper. Through cooperative learning and dissemination, we exchange best practices, nurturing engagement.
Early childhood education organizations and policymakers gain knowledge about leveraging the multiprofessional approach of educators. They integrate social and pedagogical expertise to establish high-quality education and welfare standards. Educators and managers acquire skills to apply multiprofessional expertise in practice, sustaining high-quality early childhood education, even in challenging societal circumstances.
