Henry Lybäck nominated for Teacher of the Year
Finnish restaurant industry’s prestigious PRO award ceremony will be held in January.
Distinguished professionals in the hotel, restaurant and catering sectors will be awarded at the PRO gala in late January. This year, prizes are awarded in 15 different categories, and Laurea Senior Lecturer Henry Lybäck has been selected as one of the three finalists for the award for Teacher of the Year.
Finalists for each category were announced last week. During the next phase, the audience can cheer on their favourites, comment and give further arguments for why their favourites should be awarded a PRO prize. Finalists can be commented on at the PRO2019 website (only in Finnish) until 16 December.
- To be selected as a finalist is a big thing, it means a lot to me, Lybäck comments on his nomination for Teacher of the Year.
- To me, the PRO awards are the most prestigious in this industry, and it’s great to have that recognition from my colleagues for the work I have done at Laurea.
Lybäck, who has worked as a teacher in the Leppävaara campus BarLaurea learning environment since 2011, has himself completed both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management at Laurea. As a teacher, he wishes to look forward and welcome change:
- I’m often working on a number of projects at the same time, I want things to get done, he says.
- The best part about being a teacher are the things we do together with the students and the shared successes.
