Apply as an exchange student

Studies at Laurea and language requirements

• Check the study offer for exchange students to see if Laurea UAS can offer suitable courses for your degree at home.
• All studies for incoming exchange students are held in English. Laurea's minimum English language level is B2 in The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students do not need to present an official language certificate on their online application. The sending university is responsible for the sufficiency of the student's language skills.

Nomination

Students are nominated through Laurea's online nomination system called SoleMove by the home university coordinator.

Nomination deadlines:

•  April 15 (Autumn Semester or Academic Year)
• October 15 (Spring Semester)

Send your online application via the SoleMove platform by the deadline.

Application deadlines:

•  April 30 (Autumn Semester or the Academic Year)
• October 31 (Spring Semester)

A motivation letter must be attached to the application. The motivation letter should address the questions below:

• What kind of studies have you planned to take during your exchange and why?
• Why are you applying for exchange?
• How will the exchange support your personal learning and career prospects?

Students will receive a decision on acceptance as an exchange student no later than two weeks after the end of the application period.

Apply for housing

Laurea University of Applied Sciences does not have its own student dormitories. Housing is available through the student housing company called HOAS and other private companies. Each student is responsible for applying for housing independently. Laurea UAS cannot guarantee student housing for all incoming exchange students since student housing is limited. The application period for HOAS exchange student apartments begins:

•  April 1 (Autumn Semester or the Academic Year)
• September 30 (Spring Semester)

Enrol for studies

Exchange students enrol for their studies before arriving in Finland, in May (for Autumn semester) and November (for Spring semester). Plan your arrival

All exchange students are expected to arrive on the orientation days. Exams are arranged within the semester dates.
