Lifelong Learning Captivated Nursing Professionals
Laurea showcased lifelong learning opportunities at the Finnish Nurses’ Days.
This year’s theme at the Finnish Nurses’ Days was “Secure Your Professional Competence.” At Laurea’s stand, a wide range of lifelong learning opportunities were showcased.
Engaging conversations took place at Laurea’s stand about how nursing professionals can develop their skills at different stages of their careers. The training programmes support and strengthen the capabilities of healthcare professionals, offering opportunities to deepen expertise and enhance professional confidence.
Particular interest was shown in Laurea’s Master’s degree programmes, specialisation and continuing education courses, MAPA® training, and free online courses. Visitors also received information about nursing-related research and development projects, as well as self-study materials to support their professional growth.
Digitalisation Is Transforming Nursing
One of the seminar themes at the Finnish Nurses’ Days was digitalisation. Digitalisation and artificial intelligence are reshaping social and healthcare services, while also challenging professionals to update their skills. Laurea’s lectures provided timely insights into the digital transformation of nursing.
Senior Lecturer Outi Ahonen presented operational models, experiences, and needs related to digitalisation and AI in social and healthcare organisations. She also shared practical approaches and tools for developing digital skills alongside work.
Project Manager Birgitta Tetri addressed the topic of digital services for vulnerable groups. She highlighted the challenges faced by patients and clients in vulnerable positions when using digital services. Her lecture offered research-based knowledge and strategies to promote digital inclusion.
The Finnish Nurses’ Days, organised by the Finnish Nurses Association, were held at Finlandia Hall on 6–7 November 2025. The event brought together around 1,400 nursing professionals from across Finland to celebrate the association’s 100th anniversary.
