Laurea building an open campus as part of the PIONEER Alliance
The PIONEER Alliance aims to create an open campus, a globalized, interconnected academic community that embraces diversity, sustainability and inclusivity.
Laurea University of Applied Sciences is part of the PIONEER Alliance, a network of ten European higher education institutions developing a new concept of an open campus. The idea goes beyond physical boundaries, connecting students, staff, alumni and partners – both on campus, online and in hybrid formats.
The open campus enables low-threshold encounters, multidisciplinary research, development and innovation activities, as well as new opportunities for international mobility. It strengthens regional competitiveness, boosts companies’ innovation capacity and supports students’ integration into working life.
Aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the PIONEER Alliance also seeks solutions for the challenges of future cities and communities. At its core, the open campus is about openness, shared learning and inspiring collaboration across backgrounds and sectors The PIONEER Alliance fosters an open campus and enhanced mobility opportunities to create a globalized, interconnected academic community that embraces diversity, sustainability, and inclusivity.
