Autumn application period starts – Laurea offers two degree programmes in English

The autumn joint application period is starting and Laurea, Finland's most attractive university of applied sciences, offers a wide range of study opportunities. From 28 August to 11 September, the joint application period includes degree programmes from different fields of study and different campuses. There are also courses leading to both a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree.

This autumn you can also apply to two different degree programmes in English: bachelor’s degree programme in Hospitality Management and Service Design and Master’s degree programme in Development and Management of Cosmetics Expertise.

The first Master’s degree programme in the Nordic countries

Since 2018, Laurea has offered Finland’s only Master's degree programme in the field of beauty care. This programme will now also be offered in English as the Master's degree programme in Development and Management of Cosmetics Expertise is launched at Laurea in January 2025. Laurea’s English-language degree programme is the only one of its kind in the Nordic countries. 

The backdrop to the launch of the new English-language degree programme was the international nature of the cosmetics sector. In cosmetics companies – be they multinationals operating in Finland or Finnish enterprises aiming for internationalisation – international business competence is vital.

This Master’s degree programme is delivered online, but studies also include one intensive week at Tikkurila Campus, Vantaa.

International field of hospitality and service business

The international hospitality and service field is a dynamic and fast-growing sector that needs people with managerial competences in planning, organizing and communicating, and the creative and analytical skills needed to drive innovation.  The Hospitality Management and Service Design degree programme focuses on developing these skills and on helping students to acquire the knowledge needed to succeed in a range of hospitality and service business sectors.

As a student, you will apply theoretical concepts to real-world cases and practical assignments. In particular, you will learn how to implement service design methods in innovation and development projects. This is accomplished through work on versatile team work led projects in development hubs with companies and on campus, such as the student restaurant BarLaurea.

Hospitality Management and Service Design is a daytime programme and the studies consist of contact teaching and face-to-face instruction. The programme is designed to be completed in three and a half years.

Joint application period is open until 11 September

The autumn application period for degree programmes takes place until 11th of September 2024. The studies will start in January 2025.
