From a path student to a degree student

Confirming the offered study place

First of all, please, confirm the offered study place at www.studyinfo.fi within the deadline set.

Reg­is­ter­ing as present or absent for the academic year

In addition to confirming your study place, you have to register as present or absent for the next academic year via the My Studyinfo service (OILI). This applies also to Laurea’s path students (also them who already have enrolled for study units for the next semester). Failure to register for the academic year in Oili results in loss of study entitlement.

Please note that in your first academic year you can register as absent only if you have legal grounds for that. More information about registering and other information for new students.

Old user account remains unchanged

When your role shifts from a path student to a degree student, your old user account will remain unchanged. This means that your e-mail address, OneDrive and H-platform will remain the same and you do not lose your important messages and files.

Study unit enrolments

If you have enrolled for study units with your Open UAS student number, the student affairs office of your campus will transfer your enrolments to your new degree student account before teaching begins. If you have unfinished study units, you can complete them during your degree studies.

Transferring credits to your degree study number

The student affairs office will transfer your path studies to your new degree student number within approximately two months from the beginning of your study entitlement. You will receive a notification when this is done. Check the transferred credits and contact the student affairs office of your campus if you have any questions.

If you have completed your path studies at another UAS than Laurea, please contact your tutor teacher or the head of student affairs at your campus.

The credits you earn as a degree student will be recorded on your new role automatically.

Pay the healthcare fee

Starting in 2021, students who study for a bachelor’s or a master’s level degree in a university of applied sciences will be entitled to use the services of the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS). If you register as attending present, you must pay the healthcare fee to Kela by 31 January for the spring term or by 30 September for the autumn term. No bill will be sent on the healthcare fee, and thus you have to pay the fee on your own initiative.
