Environmental Effect on Health Care and Wellbeing and Active Interventions

The objective of the ENACT project is ( 1) to derive a model assessing the exposomic risk (risk score based on poll-environmental exposures) of hospitalization for acute vascular and non-vascular NCD across different populations and locales; 2) to translate this risk from population to the individual level, predicting the risk of developing preclinical asymptomatic stages of disease.

Reskill Revolution: Pioneering Change in Adult Education

Funded by Erasmus+ KA3, RESKILL REVOLUTION is an international project focusing on developing micro courses for individuals to upskill them to enter the service sector in the EU. The training is both available on vocational and higher education level, and certificates are received on completed training. The project runs during 2025-2028. The partners in the project are: Laurea (coordinator), Mesensei Oy, Klaipeda University Lithuania, HR Consulting Lithuania, Kiel UAS Germany, WSG Poland, Link University Campus Italy and CETT in Spain.

Digital Transformation for Medical Education in Ukraine

Laurea is coordinating a project to promote the digital transformation of medical education in Ukraine (UkraineDigiTrans). This three-year project aims to develop innovative digital solutions suitable for medical training, to support online learning in war conditions. The project consortium comprises four Ukrainian universities, a Greek university, and the State Agency for Quality Assurance of University Education of Ukraine.

Hyvinvoiva omaishoitoperhe: Yhteistyöverkoston toimintamallin kehitys ja pilotointi omaishoitoperheiden hyvinvoinnin tukemiseksi

The project aims to create a network collaboration model to meet the needs of caregivers in the Central Uusimaa wellbeing area (Keusote). The network collaboration model seeks to provide services more equitably and specifically tailored to the diverse needs of caregivers, alongside the statutory duties of Keusote. The project is implemented in cooperation with Keusote, Laurea University of Applied Sciences, and the caregivers' associations of Central Uusimaa and Hyvinkää. The project receives state funding from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health's health promotion appropriation

RobotAI 2 - Älykästä teknologiaa sotealalle

The goal of the RobotAI project is to bring intelligent technology, such as robotics and AI to the functions of the social and health sector. The project's activities include RDI activities, piloting and development of cooperation. The project supports the implementation of digital work methods and service processes in the health and social services sector. In addition, the project promotes cooperation between public social- and health operators and companies that make technology solutions. The project has started in spring 2025 and is currently seeking trial partners from the social and health care sector, technology suppliers and the third sector. Master of Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector

The Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector (ManagiDiTH) is a four-year project, launched in January 2023 and funded by the European Union, with the aim of creating a new master’s degree curriculum that equips healthcare professionals with the competencies needed to develop digital services in the health sector. The goals of the project are to support entrepreneurship in the food industry in the south of Finland's Uusimaa region, to increase the digital marketing skills of the industry, and to attract new entrepreneurs to the industry. The project is financed by the European Rural Development Fund 2023–2027. The project is implemented by Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu Oy in cooperation with the municipality of Lapinjärvi.

In the MALL-project (Multisensory Approach to Language Learning) coordinated by Laurea, different approaches to learning the language needed in working life are tested, researched and developed in a new living lab. DigiRise - Digitalisoituva rikosseuraamusala: Laadullinen tutkimus työntekijä-asiakas-suhteen ja rikosseuraamusalan osaamisvaatimusten muutoksesta digitalisaation myötä

The DigiRise research project (The digitizing field of criminal sanctions: Qualitative research on the change in the employee-client relationship and competence requirements in the field of criminal sanctions due to digitization) will be implemented during the years 2023-2024 and has been funded by the Prison and Probation Service of Finland (PPSF), Research and Development Fund. The research focuses on the PPSF's employees and incarcerated people. The subject of interest is how digitalization changes client work and encounters between employees and incarcerated people. The research examines the opportunities and challenges related to the digitalization of prisons from the point of view of client involvement and desistance from crime. Of special interest is the change of operational culture and the changing employee-client relationship. The research asks: 1) How does digitalization change client work with incarcerated people? What is the significance of digitalization from the point of view of interaction between employee and client, as well as client processes?, and 2) How does digitalization change the professional and competence requirements of work in the field of criminal sanctions?

Nuorten paino hallintaan

The purpose of the project is to develop an action model for reducing the overweight of 13-18 years old youth. In addition, the aim is to develop teaching materials for municipalities that utilizes behavioral therapy methods. The project is implemented in a multidisciplinary collaboration with social and health care and teaching staff working with young people. The project is also testing an application that has been found effective in adults. The partners in the project are the city of Raisio and the welfare region of South Karelia.
