Laurea reached the highest level in the national Monitoring of Open Science and Research
Laurea reached degree 5 in all four areas.
The results of the national Open Science and Research Monitoring were published at the end of October in the research.fi service. According to the results, universities of applied sciences (UAS) reached level 4/5 on average. The highest level 5 was reached by 11 UAS, including Laurea. Laurea reached degree 5 in all four areas. The areas were Culture for open scholarship, Publishing, Data and Infrastructures, and Open Education, which were examined through documents, services, collaborations, and outputs.
In the previous monitoring, Laurea also reached level 5/5. Within the areas, development has taken place especially in the area of Culture for open scholarship and the openness of the Data and infrastructures, which were mainly affected by Laurea's commitment to open and responsible career development, and the Data management processes produced in the projects. Open access publishing of educational resources has also improved well compared to universities of applied sciences.
The national monitoring has been organised in its current form in 2022 and 2024. This year's follow-up included new indicators and scoring was tightened from the previous one. The monitoring is carried out by the Open Science Coordination of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, which is mandated by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
