Accessibility of the digital service

Laurea’s website partly meets the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Recommendations (WCAG 2.1) levels A and AA.

The website does not yet fully meet the accessibility requirements under the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019).

Inaccessible content

Since 23 September 2018, pdf files have been published in the web service that are not accessible for the part of the language selection, headings or text alternatives for images.

Non-text content Level A

Images on the web pages lack a text alternative (WCAG 1.1.1) or, on the oldest pages, the text alternative is the image file name. The problem occurs on the oldest news pages and the English website on the project pages, on the pages related to education and continuing education.

Info and relationships Level A

Heading text is missing (WCAG 1.3.1). There are errors on pages related to projects.

The input field does not contain descriptions for form fields (WCAG 1.3.1, 3.3.2 and 4.1.2).

Form elements are not grouped (WCAG 1.3.1, 3.3.2).

Link purpose (in context) Level A, link purpose (link only), Level AAA

Link text is used to refer to several destinations, or the link text is too generic in its current context, or a linked image is missing alternative text (WCAG 2.4.4, 2.4.9).

Name, role, value Level A

IFrame is missing a description (WCAG 4.1.2). The use of descriptions is recommended. This issue occurs in embedded videos on our website.
