Joint application period has ended – a total of 21,495 applications to Laurea
Most applicants from Laurea's Finnish-language programmes were attracted by the business administration and social services studies completed entirely online.
The autumn joint application period for higher education institutions ended today, Wednesday, at 15.00. Laurea University of Applied Sciences received a very large number of applications: a total of 21,495. A total of 4635 applicants had chosen one of Laurea's programmes as their primary study option.
This autumn, Laurea offered both Finnish and English training in the joint application process. There are a total of 1125 study places in these programmes starting in January 2025.
Most applicants for fully online degree programmes
Measured by the number of applicants, the most popular of Laurea's Finnish-language training programmes in this autumn's joint application process were those completed entirely online. A total of 1867 applicants applied for the bachelor’s degree programme in business management and 1353 for the bachelor’s degree programme in social services. Both degree programmes are taught in Finnish.
There were two English-language degree programmes in this autumn's joint application process, of which the Hospitality Management degree programme received 5,800 applications. Another English-language degree programme offered was the first Master's degree in beauty care in the Nordic countries, Development and Management of Cosmetics Expertise. A total of 267 applicants applied. Together with the Master's Degree Programme in Security Management, it was the most popular Master's degree programme at Laurea.
Other of Laurea's English-language bachelor's and master's degree programmes will be open in the joint application process in January 8.–22.1.2025.
UAS entrance examinations will be held at the end of October
The training programmes that have now been applied for in the joint application process will start in January 2025. As a rule, students are admitted to programmes leading to a university of applied sciences degree on the basis of certificate-based admissions and a UAS entrance examination.
The national UAS entrance exam will be held in the autumn between 28.–30.10.2024. The results of certificate-based admissions are published before the national UAS entrance examination. The results of the UAS entrance exam and the entrance tests for master's degree programmes will be published no later than 21.11.2024. Read more about the joint application schedule.
