In social services students learn about the working environment, customers, working methods and development of social services. A graduated student of social services can work for example as a social worker, an instructor, a kindergarten teacher or a project worker.
The first two years of studies students acquire basic vocation skills. The third and fourth year of studies progress through personal studying plan.
Studies may emphasize, for example:
• day care
• child welfare
• disabled care
• crisis management
• substance abuse care
In their work bachelors of social services supports different aged people, families and communities. Social worker who works as an educator or mentor contributes especially to the welfare of children and young people for example in day care centers, child welfare institutions or as a family worker. Social worker working in rehabilitation or social support on the other hand supports the elderly, disabled or immigrants.
Graduating also provides the possibility to design and manage fields services, for example in organizations, in the public sector or in your own business. Graduates can become qualified kindergarten teachers by completing 60 credits of studies in early childhood education and social pedagogy.
