R&D Laurea Leppävaara

Laurea SID Labs is an international R&D environment that focuses on the unit's competence areas.

The environment ‎comprises a total of seven labs in the fields of

  • Tourism,

  • Hospitality Management,

  • Business Management,

  • Business ‎Information Systems and

  • Security Management.

The labs implement the three tasks of the university of applied sciences – education, regional development and R&D, ‎in line with the Learning by Developing model (LbD) developed by Laurea.

The operations of the labs are based on R&D carried out by students in different projects. The environment provides a ‎placement for approximately 40 research trainees from Finland and abroad. Research trainees collaborate with ‎Laurea's staff, other higher education institutions and business partners.‎
